Outreach & Hospitality

Don’t just go to church. Be the church.

When the church is referred to as the Body of Christ, it means we are His hands, his feet, etc.  In other words, we as His body carry out the works that Christ would do if He were physically here on earth. We want to be an evangelistic church, but we also notice that Jesus met a lot of physical needs while He was here!

That’s something we take seriously at Discovery, by meeting needs, ministering to the weak, the deprived or the grieving. We constantly endeavor to be sensitive to opportunities for ministry.

Some initiatives and partnerships that make up our Outreach & Hospitality Ministry:

Neighborhood Canvassing: Walking through our communities at intermittent times, inviting people to Discovery and engaging them in natural conversation.

Stand Up For Kids: Collecting itemssuch as clothing, ect., for underprivileged teens in the city and on the streets of Oceanside.

KAIROS: Partnering with a ministry focusing on those who are or have been incarcerated and their families.

The Rosarito Project: Helping our friend Pastor Enrique and a budding new church work in Rosarito, Mexico, through building projects and donations.

Blessing Boxes: Assembling and delivering boxes with full meal contents and other items to needy families in the community. This takes place during every major holiday. You may nominate a family for a special Blessing Box by contacting Heather Willey at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
